August 10, 2009 we arrived in Texas. Can anyone else believe that it has been ONE year ago? I can't. It has seriously flown by. This last year has been definitely one of the best. Sure being students again without an income has been rough. It has been hard to have just one car. It's hard being so far from both sides of our family. It hasn't been easy being students again, but I am so thankful that we decided to go to law school. We easily could have stayed in Reno with our comfortable job/paycheck and our house and two cars and great insurance. But I am so glad we didn't. Out of the 15 law schools Wade got into, I am definitely positive that Texas Tech was the right choice. I was so unsure about Lubbock prior to moving here. But the minute we arrived here I instantly loved it. I had a really good attitude about it and it made a world of a difference. I still can't believe that I am officially a TEXAN! Yee-haw!
Here are some pictures from a year ago!
I think the second day we were here we hopped in the car and checked out the Law School. Here we are right outside. I remember feeling anxious as we were walking through the school. I was so unsure about us being students again.
Talk about feeling anxious. When we drove by this sign I remember feeling VERY anxious. We hadn't visited Lubbock prior to moving here. We even found our apartment online. So seeing this sign gave me mixed emotions. I was excited and scared all at the same time.
This was Brooklyn at my parents in the big Penske truck. It was hard saying goodbye to my family, but thankfully it got easier as the days went by.
This is Wade outside the Law library. We thought he would be in that cave from sun up to sun down, but lucky for me he spent minimal time there and still got kick butt grades.
This is me and Debbie :) This year was probably the best because of great friends. Lubbock is a wonderful place to live. A lot of religion here, lots of friendly people, a lot of special things here, but nothing made it the best year but my good friends. This place is unique in the fact that most young people are here for school and without family so everyone becomes each others family!
