When Wade and I were first married, I am talking like a few months married, my car died. Which meant we needed to buy our first car together. Wade's mom had heard of someone she knew that was selling their Isuzu Trooper. At first, I didn't even want to make a call to even go look at it. I thought Trooper's were ghetto. Wade pulled up a pick of one online of what exactly this one being sold would look like, and I refused to look at it :) Bratty? For sure! I finally looked at it, and was surprised. Not what I thought :) So we called the guy and went and drove it. We both loved it and the bonus was that we could just pay cash for it. So we bought it in October 2004. It had 150,000 miles on it but he was the only owner and was an in house mechanic, so it was well taken care of.

This Trooper was a huge blessing. It had minimal problems and was the best car for our family. In 2005 we bought a brand new Nissan and I drove the new car and Wade drove this. Then we had Brooklyn and I liked having an SUV better to get her in and out of, so this became my car. And I really, really loved this car. It served our family well...even made the 3 day trip to Lubbock to move us. Then it became our only car as we sold the Nissan once we left for Law School. Then this year it died :( The transmission died Jan 2010, we replaced it... a few grand later. Then our luck continued to run out and the transmission died again spring 2011. (horrible transmission job huh? never using them again!).
So we have to say bye bye to our favorite car and one that was a huge blessing for us. We had no car payment all through school, or ever, and it got us every where. Still can't believe it lasted 230,000 miles :) and 7 years after we bought it!

We bought this Tahoe in April. It's the best car and we absolutely LOVE it. It seats 8 and is roomy and nice. I guess it was a good replacement for the Trooper. :) Tahoe's are our favorite car, so we are happy we were able to find a good one!
Also... here are some other things going on. I get asked these questions all the time, so here are the answers.
Wade is currently working for a personal injury firm here in Lubbock. And...lucky for us, studying for the BAR. Every night after work he studies. Love that :( He takes the BAR Feb 29, 30 and March 1st. He is taking the Texas BAR. Wish him luck.
Onto JAG. We have zero details. I get asked all types of questions and I hate that I don't even know any answers. Here is what I do know:
He will have to attend an officer training for 4 weeks in AL. We found out there is one starting May 29th and we are sooo hoping he gets into that one. His salary starts the day he leaves for training so we really hope that he goes sooner rather than later. If not May 29th he will go some time in the summer. We will not see him and talk to him minimally during that 4 weeks. :( BIG FAT BOO!
Then...after that he will attend a 9.5 week training of Military Law again in AL. We can see him on weekends, not sure how that will work, all I know is that is a long time to be away from him.
Then after all that is done he will be working!
We will probably move to wherever they assign us in between those two trainings. And about where we will move? IDK. Once we get bar results we call and they tell us then what bases have openings and we choose from there.
Oh and I forgot to mention...This is all based on the fact that he passes the medical clearances. We know MANNNNYYYY people who have been medically discharged for small, small reasons. We are very aware of this fact and very nervous. Whatever happens is supposed to happen so we will just go from there.
He is starting paperwork right now and will start the medical stuff shortly!
Crazy life :) but we love it!
How is that for an update!?
