Amarillo and the MEPS

Tuesday night we headed to Amarillo for Wade's Military physical at MEPS. Amarillo is 2 hours away so they paid for a hotel room for us. Wade had to be at MEPS at 545 AM, so it was nice being in Amarillo the night before. Anyway, we got there and headed straight for the Hot tub :) My kids love hot tubs.

It was fun for the kids to sleep in a hotel :) Wednesday am, we took wade at 530 am to MEPS (military entrance processing system). Then we went back and slept for a few more hours. Then got up ate a delish bfast and got ready for the day. Wade was supposed to be done at 2 in the afternoon, but got done around noon. Totally messed up my plans of shopping and mall play place, but that's ok :)
After we picked him up we headed straight for Red Robin.....yummmmm. We don't have one in Lubbock (which I have no clue as to why we don't). So Red Robin was a treat.

This is totally un-related, but before I forget I need to mention how this cute kid calls "Bootwin" hunnies. He will say...Oh hunnies, it's ok. Or...Oh hunnies, you look booful (beautiful). It is so precious. really really precious. And his sweet little voice that goes along with it is too cute.

Let me explain this horrible picture. It is supposed to be horrible. To qualify for JAG, based on Wade's height, he needed to be a certain weight. Let's just say he had some wight to loose (and wade was not fat btw). So he went on a juice fast. He didn't eat much except veggie/fruit smoothies for a whole month. He definitely lost the weight. We actually were really blessed that he was able to loose the weight. We don't deny that our prayers were answered. So....back to the pic. He was dreaming of this burger for a few days now. So we pick him up and he tells us the bad news that he failed his urine test due to high levels of protein. He was really dehydrated which caused his levels to be high. So at the time this picture was taken he was sad about the news and not as relieved as he thought he would be eating something besides a smoothie :) So we actually head back to Amarillo tomorrow for another pee test. Oh and we went to the dr today to make sure the levels of protein were normal and they were. So every thing is a-okay!

After Red Robin we went to the Zoo. It was...fun. Sure :) Sleepy animals are always entertaining ;)

It actually was nice out so it was enjoyable to spend time as a family outside.

Look at these two hoodlums. They were way more interested in the huge turtle in the cage.

The kids had a blast so that is all that mattered. Now that we have MEPS almost done it will be a huge relief off of Wade. We were really worried about all the medical clearances. We aren't out of the woods, but almost! Oh and btw...they told him he should loose another 10 lbs before officer training in May. Uh....hello? This guy is 6'7". Do they want a string bean attorney? Guess so!
