Our Romantic Getaway! Days 1 & 2

I am so sad that I am this behind on my blog. I almost want to give up. I would just start from the present and skip all of the things I am behind on, but they were major events and cannot be left out. So this week I plan to get totally caught up! Here are the first two days of our cruise!

May 12-17 Wade and I went on the best vacation ever. We cruised through the Bahama's and it was amazing! We sailed from Orlando, Fl. We have now been on four cruises, 3 Royal Caribbean and this last one we went via Carnival. Overall, we like Royal the best. Although, the people watching on Carnival was the best of the best :)
This ship was so fun. They had water slides on the top deck that we actually had fun on, on our last day which was a day at sea.
This was our first dinner. I look like crap because of how exhausted I was. Leading up to this cruise was so overwhelming for me. We had been waiting to hear of our base assignment(which was exhausting), started packing to move, had to get things in order to leave my kids for a week (which I had never done), had to get every thing ready for graduation 1 day after we would get back...and not to mention us getting into FL the night before the cruise at 330am. I was so tired all I could think about was sleep. The first night I seriously did just that...sleep. Wade wanted to explore the ship, and do some fun things that first night but I seriously couldn't do it. After dinner and  quick show, we headed off to bed!
Luckily, we slept in until 10am the next morning. I honestly haven't done that in YEARS! It felt so good! Our first port was Freeport. Every morning we would get ready and go find some breakfast on the top deck and look at the port from the deck.
We were in Feeport on Mother's Day. I was a tad sad in the morning because I was missing my kids on Mother's Day and I was sad I was missing church. We decided to just relax in Freeport since it was Sunday and we wanted to try our best to keep the Sabbath(usually when we travel we treat Sunday like any other day, but I wanted the extra blessings to bless my kids when I was away.)
So we decided to walk to the beach. We thought it would be a quick walk like most ports...boy were we wrong. After 5 miles of walking there was no sign of shopping, beach, people, ect. Just neighborhood after neighborhood (which btw...were amazingly nice. Huge stucco homes with nice yards). A taxi pulled up and told us we had another 10 miles before we hit the touristy stuff. I was so beyond frustrated with Wade at that point. I wanted to take the bus thing that I saw taking people from the ship. It was Wade's idea to walk :) This taxi wanted to charge us 27 dollars and we didn't even have that in cash so we said no. So she drove away and we started walking some more. I then noticed blisters on my feet from my flip flops and Wade saw some on his feet too. Then I got gripey! Thankfully when we stopped on the side of the road to figure out what to do next, a local guy picked us up and took us. Nice man didn't even want money. But we gave him 10 anyway.
Wade picked me some Mother's Day flowers. What a sweet guy. We actually had a GREAT walk the first 5 or so miles. It was great being out together with no kids and the weather was perfect. We talked about so many different things, it was great!

This place was really awesome! Super nice and cute.
We tried finding an Internet cafe so we could check in with Macy and the kids. Thankfully there was a Starbucks and if you bought a drink you got 30 minutes. So I hopped on Facebook and she luckily was on. So I got to chat with her, see some pictures of my kids that she posted to my wall, and tell my kids I loved them. That 30 minutes totally rejuvenate me and I no longer missed my kids as much.
After the Facebook chat, we headed for the beach to just relax. The ocean there was unbelievable.
Look at that water! It was pretty warm too, although we didn't swim. Just enjoyed relaxing on the beach for a little bit.
That night was the formal dinner night.
And they made it special for all the moms!
It was so nice being away from the kids and to get re-connected with Wade. Law school was rough on us in that way (great in every other aspect). So it was just nice to find each other again. I really love Wade and we had the best time.
I have a ton more vacay pictures coming up soon!

So fun!!! I can't wait to hear about the rest of it! It's hard leaving kids (we left Jax for a week when we went to Mexico last year) but I think it is very important to get those times to just reconnect with your spouse! So glad you guys had a good time!!!
