Last minute trip

Last week Wade was in North Carolina visiting his best friend who is at Duke. I bought him a ticket to go see him for Christmas. So he went and we planned on staying here dadless for 5 days. Then a few nights after Wade was gone my friend Debbie and I got to chatting on FB and decided I should hop in the car and drive over to see them. I am such a last minute kind of girl. I don't need to know weeks before...so I hopped in the car the next day and drove to Dallas. It is a 5.5 hour drive and I was nervous driving with just me and the kids. The drive ended up being flawless and we didn't even make a stop. We drove straight through and couldn't wait to see our bff's.

We hadn't seen Debbie and her kids since August so it was sooooo good to see them. My kids were in heaven the whole time! The first night we were there we all ate at the Cheese Cake Factory(so good every time) and then headed to the mall carousel and then to Ikea. It was so good to catch up.

Weston seriously was on cloud nine the whole trip. They had a million Toy Story toys and he had his friends to play with...so he was a happy boy.
Saturday morning was a dance party :) These 4 kiddies are the cutest friends ever. They all go along so well. Brooklyn and Ben are especially adorable to each other.

Meet our tour guides, Ben and Brooklyn. They took us around the Dallas zoo on Saturday. The weather was phenomenal, the animals were awesome and it was a blast!

That night John watched all the kids so Debbie and I could have a girls night. We went to eat at a cute place called Paradise Bakery and is so delicious! Then we headed to the Outlet malls to shop. It was so nice of John to let us have a girls night. It was so fun to have a girls night without kids :)
We let the kids feed the giraffes some lettuce and that was neat. Weston loved having the giraffe take the lettuce right out of his hand. I was not quick enough to capture either kid feeding it on camera.
Weston is an animal freak. He was in heaven the whole time.

Sunday we went to church, came home and made lunch and let the kids play in the back yard. Then we all took some nice naps! It was heavenly. We got to spend most of Sunday with them and then around 8 we picked Wade up from the airport and drove home. We got in around 130am. but....it was worth it :)
Weston went on a hugging streak while we were waiting in line and everyone received a hug from him, including strangers. :)
The other day Brooklyn told me that as she was about to fall asleep for a nap she thought about how much fun she had in Dallas and how much she missed Ben. What a sweet girl. I was sad for her because I know how much she loves that Ben!
All the kids the whole weekend were so great. They played perfectly together. It was so fun being there to see their new home, Debbie's cute pregnant belly and her new cute neighborhood. I definitely could see myself living in Dallas...if it were closer to home.
I actually had this whole post done and then my Internet went out for a minute and when I went to publish it lost everything. So this is the second attempt, and not as good because I couldn't remember all that I wrote. I hate when that happens.
Anyway, thanks Debbie for a perfect weekend. We miss you already! Can't wait to come visit again soon!

So cute! I LOVE the picture of Been pointing to Brooklyn's Map. When they get married that one HAS to be in their wedding video. They look like a little couple!
