It's almost been a month since my last post. I rarely go that long without updating. There are; however, a few reasons for this. First, Blogger will no longer allow me to upload anymore pictures. It says I have used up all my alloted space and in order to continue I have to purchase more space for a cost. I have tried going around this through a few suggestions I got on fb, but nothing is working. So I am not sure what to do now! Future posts will be without pics...sorry (until I get it figured out. I might have to start a new blog :( :( :( )
We also left Reno, flew across the country to Alabama, flew to our new home in AZ, moved on base, went to a new ward and I have limited internet to top off all the reasons I haven't blogged.
So here is a long list of things that are going on here:
*We left Reno. It was hard saying goodbye to my mom and dad. Living with them for five months was challenging but also very rewarding. They were good to us and we all got used to having family around. We miss them a lot still.
*I drove to AZ with the two kids and pulled a packed full Uhaul trailer. I went between 55 and 60 mph the whole way which made for very long driving hours. I stopped in Vegas for the night at Wade's grandma's house to break up the driving. We arrived in AZ on a Sunday and the next morning had a 7am flight to Alabama to visit Wade for the Thanksgiving.
*We had an AMAZING time in AL. It's definitely one of the prettiest states I have ever been to. It was great to see where Wade has been, meet all his friends and instructors. We stayed in his hotel/apt room for the 8 days we were there. That was nice because we cut the cost of getting a hotel room. Families aren't really allowed to live there (which is why we were in Reno) but the JAG people said as long as the kids were quiet and we kept it on the DL it should be fine. The whole 8 days flew by. It was so great having the family together again. These 4 months have been difficult. I can't imagine what a 6 month deployment will be like:(
*We were at Wade's base for a few days and then he was off for 3 days plus the weekend for Thanksgiving so we headed to Gulf Shores about 3.5 hours away to visit the beach for Thanksgiving. It was AMAZING. Once I can upload pictures I have a tons of awesome pics to post.
*After we said bye to Wade again we flew back to AZ and the next day signed papers on the base to move in. I was really nervous about starting this whole new life without Wade. And I was nervous about what base housing would look like. I was completely shocked and surprised when I walked through my front door. It's BEAUTIFUL, HUGE, CLEAN and PERFECT! It even has brand new carpet and fresh paint which makes it smell like a brand new house. I couldn't be happier. We still have all of our belongings in storage in TX so we are making due with some borrowed things from our good friend Jenny who lives near here and a bunch of trips to Walmart. 2 more weeks and Wade is DONE!
*Base life is awesome. I love it. It's a huge base with lots of friendly people. I have met a few neighbors who are all awesome and friendly. If you are familiar with the best show on earth, Army Wives, then you can picture exaclty how base life is. It portrays it pretty perfectly. There is a JAG family two doors down from us that contacted us prior to moving here and have been such a blessing. They even brought over an extra couch they had so I wouldn't have to sit on the floor anymore. Plus they have had us over for dinner and I do laundry over there. So nice. The only bummer thing about this neighborhood is that there are not very many kids my kids age. EVERYONE is young, but either no kids or baby age kids. I am quite disappointed, but really, I have soooo much to be grateful for. Base life has exceeded my expectations!
*And lastly, I a sooooooo sooooooo soooooo in love with AZ already. We live in a very nice nice area with a million and five gorgeous shopping centers, palm trees evrywhere, tons of awesome resturants, and anything I could have ever wanted. I mostly shop and eat in either Goodyear or Surprise and love both those cities. The actual base is on the edge of Glendale but I am closer to both those cities, which I don't mind since they are NICE! but...I have yet to experience a summer here so I might change my mind about being in love with this place :)
So I think this long novel is done! We are so happy. In two weeks when our family is back together and normal again life will be even better.
