Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day all weekend! It was so much fun. My good friend Kristen from HS called me up and invited us to spend the weekend with them in Scottsdale at The Westin Resort. So last minute we booked a room and headed over to play for the weekend.

When we told the kids our plans they got super excited! Weston thought that staying at The Westin was about the coolest thing in his book :)
We played, swam, sweated in the 106 degrees, played in the lazy river, went down the slides, ordered lunch pool side, went out to dinner and soaked up the weekend together!

These two swam the entire two days we were there. Brooklyn mastered her underwater hand stand. That girl of mine is a go-getter in terms of practicing until she has mastered what ever it is she is trying to do.
Unfortunately Wade and Brooklyn came home with heat exhaustion. Even in the water, this heat is brutal.
I love being a family. People always offer to watch my kids so I can get this and that done, but honestly, I never ever need it. I love having my kids around. Sure I love nap times and bed times and quiet nights, but I would soooooooooo soooooooooo much rather go grocery shopping with my kids with me then do it alone. It's not because I hate leaving them, because I am just fine getting a baby sitter. But I just love my time with them and this time is so precious to me because it isn't going to last forever. Even though I wished it would.

Ryan is so cute!!! He is so easy. He played all weekend in the water, napped under the umbrella and people watched in the shade.
It's really hard to pry them out of the pool and pour water down their throats but we had to. They need to get used to it :)
Wade is the best dad. I knew that he would be when I first met him. The very first time we talked he showed me a picture of his then 8 year old little brother Jake. He carried his picture in his wallet and told me all about Jake. That is actually what first attracted me to him. Never has he disappointed me since. He is an amazing dad to these three. He is by far and large the best dad I know. My kids are extremely blessed. He is so creative and fun and light hearted and goofy and makes their life so much fun. He is also a good dad to in teaching them the gospel. He is already shaping Weston to be a pretty great boy. He constantly teaches him how to treat girls and how to respect them. Boy that kid gets it from Wade if he talks to me poorly, hits his sister, ect. He is also showing Weston the power of hard work. He makes sure Weston is out there every time Wade is working outside in the yard or cleaning the garage or putting something together. Teaching Weston hard work is priceless. He takes care of Brooklyn like she is worth a million dollars (because she is:). That girl has it good. He doesn't spoil her, but Brooklyn knows that she is treasured by her dad. That too, is priceless.
So that was our weekend. Loved being able to have a fun weekend celebrating our favorite daddy!
