Brooklyn's experience so far being a big sister has been perfect so far. She is on cloud nine having him around and wants nothing more than to mother him, take care of him and be around him. The other morning he was sleeping on my bed and when Brooklyn woke up she asked where he was. I told her he was sleeping on my bed and then I continued talking to Jena. After a little while I noticed Brooklyn wasn't around and went into my bedroom and found her laying by him rubbing his back softly. She was there a good ten minutes. That is true love right there. She loves to help with anything I ask her to do. She loves picking out his outfits, getting his diapers, putting his binky back in his mouth, and most of all she LOVES to hold him. I just put the boppy around her and lay him in her lap. She also loves to give him hugs and kisses. She would hold him all day long if I let her. She also is very involved with what I am doing with him. She talks and talks to him too. It has been amazing to watch Brooklyn in her new role in our family. It has brought me to tears a few times watching her sweet gentleness with him. She knows exactly what he needs and really truly loves him. And the good part is that it keeps getting better and better!
This is the first time Wade brought her in after Weston was born. At first she looked confused as she looked around the unfamiliar room. She glanced at everyone and then this picture was taken as she spotted Weston in my arms. No joke... her face went from confused to this BIG CUTE smile.
Then she immediately reaches down for him and said, "I hold you!" It made me want to cry and I probably would have if there weren't so many people around.
Then Wade leaned her down so she could touch him and hold him.
What a sweet heart. Weston is one lucky boy to have Brooklyn as a sister.
Pure love right there.
Watching morning cartoons with her new baby brother.
Here she is whispering to him that she loves him...sweetest thing ever. I am amazed that within minutes of seeing her baby brother she knew she loved him. She really didn't understand what was going on but she knew she loved him. Simply amazing.
Since this moment here, she has always interacted with Weston by softly rubbing her cheek to his head or face. She is so instinctively soft and gentle. When she does this gesture she usually will be doing it with a big smile and says, "I love him" or even sometimes she says, "I love her!"
This is the big sister herself! Her expression wraps up this whole experience for her so far!
Giving Weston his toy. I think the toy is as big as the tiny peanut himself!
Here she is trying to wrap him up like she sees us do.
Just chatting with her baby brother.

That is the sweetest thing ever! I love that the first words she said to him was "I hold you" how cute is that!
Oh, that is one sweet blog. You can truly see the love for her baby brother in those pictures. Brooklyn is amazing.
Nice to hear from you Lindsay and can't believe how good you're doing with two little kiddos. I wasn't expecting you wanting to socialize that soon, but yeah, I miss you and so looking forward to meet little Weston, so just email what day and time is good for you and I will meet.
Just seeing that look on her face, while she has her little arms wrapped around him makes me want to cry. What a great gift - for both of them. It will matter a lot to them both in the future.
