Get this...

So we had a very interesting day yesterday. Since it was a three day weekend we decided to go to Marine World in California. We planned on going Saturday but then decided we would relax this weekend and go on Monday. Wade had it off so it should have been the perfect day. Sunday we get a message on his phone that the Gov. 's office needed him to come in on Monday because they had over two hundred laws that were proposed by the legislature that needed review by the gov.'s office. So.... Wade had to work. But....he was so bummed at the thought of not going to Marine World that yesterday morning he called at ten in the morning and said they were going to let him come home way early so that he could go!!! YAY! So nice of them. We told Brooks all weekend that we were going so he was not about to disappoint her:) What a good daddy!
So Wade gets home at 10:30 and we head out after grabbing some sammies at 11:30. Unfortunately what was supposed to be a 2 1/2 hour drive turned into a 5 hour drive:( There was traffic from the minute we hit I80. Granted we had to pull over once to feed Weston and once to get Brooklyn something to eat but 5 hours????? We were totally frustrated. Also the last hour or so Brooklyn complained that her tummy was hurting which ended up being a disaster too. Let me explain. We finally get to Marine World at 4:45. Yes you read that right. Starting an amusement park day at 4:45pm. We hurry to the last two shows of the day where Brooklyn had three poo poo accidents, two of which were runny :( really runny:( That explained why her tummy was hurting so bad. After cleaning up those messes we had time for a couple of rides only because little did we know, the park CLOSED at 7. The website said 10:30pm. UGHHHHH! We got there at five, dealt with three gross messes and then left two hours later! haha. Funny huh??
Luckily we laughed about it:) Here are some pictures of our short, very short day at the amusement park. Oh also we got season passes there so we will be returing. How aweful would it have been to had just purchased the one day ticket and only be there for two hours?
Brooklyn was totally into this little roller coaster. The minute she sat in the cart she put her arms up and kept them up the whole time! She LOVED IT!
This ride was actually really fun and made your stomach drop a little bit. Brooklyn laughed the WHOLE time. She loved this one too!
Brooklyn and Wade on the horsey ride as Brooklyn calls it.
Waving to dad.

Boy don't they look super enthused? The Killer Whale was so not into performing so the show turned out to be kind of a bummer. Brooklyn's tummy was hurting her here too:(
There is a huge whale in the picture but all you notice is the bald guy:)
Poor girl was feeling better and then we had to leave because the park was closing. She kept asking to go on more rides. I can tell she is going to be one of those girls that loves thrill rides and roller coasters. She is such a fun girl!
Here is my handsome little guy keeping warm. It was windy while we were there for our two hours. He was awake for awhile and such a good boy.
Me and Weston watching the Sea Lion show. We both look weird in this picture but I haven't posted any pics of me and my little buddy so this will have to work!

Mr. Sea Lion doing his thing. Brooklyn thought the Sea Lions were funny.
I think Wade is the cutest dad.

All in all it was a great day despite our run ins with bad luck. It was so nice to just spend time together. I am eating up all the time I get to spend with Wade right now because come August...that will be out the door with him starting law school! I am still trying to comprehend how I am going to deal with that.

So glad you at least had the time together -- timing is everything, isn't it?! Sigh.

Just BTW - you look fantastic - not at all like someone who just gave birth!! Love it!

I am glad you had a fun time and that you got season passes. We got them our first year here when we lived in Dayton. You go twice and it's paid for.
When we went we lost Hannah for about ten minutes and I had every possible scenario run through my head. Also, same trip while we were at the whale show this dumb hooker behind me spilled her blue icee. She did have the decency to tell me to move and that it was heading for my behind, then I feel something cold on my bum. I was so angry. I walked around half the day with blue icee on my khaki capri's. Although our trips were chaotic, we always had fun going there.
