We are finally getting settled into our new place here in Texas. We had a safe drive that took us two and a half days. It was uneventful, which was nice. Weston slept the entire 2 1/2 days and Brooklyn rode in the big truck with her dad the entire time too. Saying good bye to my parents, my house, my friends was very very hard. Saturday morning was extremely tough saying good bye to my parents. It was very emotional for all of us. Maybe one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I know we will all be ok though. Macy and our friend Jenny came on the drive with us and are still here. Lubbock is about the size of just Reno and has everything that Reno has. Totally not a hick town and surprisingly very nice:) I think I will be just fine here.
I have a lot to update about so here is the first of many posts.
Brooklyn in the big truck. She thought riding with her dad was the coolest thing ever. She played with this car ride box of goodies that my mom bought her and snacked with her dad the entire time. Oh and she got to watch movie after movie!
This sign got me very nervous. I had never been to Lubbock prior to moving here, so I was so nervous to see where I would be living. This sign was also very exciting as we traveled 1500 miles to get here!
Horrible pic of me, but give me a break...I was driving for he third day in a row. But here I am in front of the Texas sign!
He was a PERFECT baby the entire way. Maybe fussed 2 times the whole 1500 miles!
Cute girl ready for another day of driving.
Now to our time in Lubbock so far.
This is our little Town Home. It is about 1200 sq ft...a little too small but we are getting creative with organizational stuff to fit all of our crap into. I have to say going from a home you own to a town home in an apartment complex is a little rough. We had a garage full of stuff and now we have just a little storage shed. We are making it work though. Kind of.
One of the first nights here we checked out the Temple. It looks just like the Reno Temple, except does not sit on a hill. Why? Because Lubbock doesn't have anything that even resembles a hill :( Oh but our church building is in the same parking lot as the Temple. How cool is that? And it is 2 miles from my house! YAY!
We also checked out the Texas Tech campus. HOLY HUGE campus. Way bigger than any campus I have ever been on. The Law School building is half really old and historic and then also has a new 15 million dollar building that is brand new. Wade got so excited as we walked through the building. His eyes were sparkling.

so glad you made it safely!! Now once you're settled and ready for a road trip, you need a weekend in Austin. I honestly have a room with a king bed, one with twins and a room with a full-sized crib -- you'd have the upstairs to yourselves!!
Yay for Texas! We have truly learned to love it here and I don't think we're ever going elsewhere.
Glad you guys made it there safely. Good luck with all the changes. I am sure you will grow to love it.
I am so glad you guys made it! I know that you will enjoy your time there, even if its so far away from me =) I can't wait to see the pictures of your new place...just think we might move into something that is 900 square feet! AHHH!!! Miss ya!
First off, that last pic of Brooklyn is so stinkin cute!! I am glad that the drive went so well. What drugs did you give the little guy so he slept 3 days straight. :) j/k
Congrats on getting there and I hope you are getting all settled in.
Glad you made it there! I sure hope you enjoy your little life down there in Texas!
Glad to see you made it and are getting settled! I LOVED the pic of Brooklyn in her sunglasses! I have always thought TX was the coolest state and would like to live there. I'm sure you'll have such a wonderful time!
I know how emotional it was to say goodbye. I can't believe that I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I am glad you are save and even more glad that Weston was so good for you. Yay Weston!
You need to keep my phone number on speed dial and call anytime to ask anything or at late nights when Wade is studying and the kids are asleep. Find a great T.V. series like Gilmore Girls. Just Kidding I know you don't like that.
