General Conference

I realize this is a week late but I had to include it. Plus My sister asked when I was going to update my blog...ummm excuse me Macy, I have updated 3 times in like 5 days! Talk about a greedy little thing ;) Wade is watching his beloved Giants in the Playoffs and the kids are sleeping, so what else to do with my time? How about blog! One of my most favorite things!

How amazing do I look? haha! I am bordering Halloweenish with how scary I look! j/k! I look like I am baking with my kids in my jammies...nothing is better then that!
For the first time in my life, I baked something from scratch. I am a pretty good cook(if I do say so myself) but baking...nada! Nope never have gotten on that train! But I was craving cinnamon rolls and Winter inspired me to bake some since she was too! I thought this could be fun with the kids. And thankfully Wade was there to supervise, since he is the baker of course!

Conference was more then amazing. There were a few talks that nearly made me cry because of how much I felt the spirit. I think the older I get, the more I crave April and October when we get to spend 2 days listening to Men of God guide and direct us! This was the weekend of my race too...how perfect was my weekend?

Yes, yes and yes! These were divine! I finally used my Kitchen Aid for the very first time...only took me 2 years ;)

I was asked to give a short talk yesterday at church. My topic was General Conference. What I learned and how I will apply it to my life. I wanted to share the intro of my talk, because this is my journal and because it is my testimony(at least a small part of it).

I am so incredibly thankful that I belong to a church and have faith in a Gospel that has a living Prophet who guides and directs me. Two of my favorite times of year are April and October when we get to hear Prophet’s, Seers and Revelators speak and guide us. Last weekend was so wonderful. I got the opportunity to hear all four sessions of conference and I have so much I could talk about. I learned, I felt the spirit, I felt guided, I got answers to my questions and I felt that those men and women were speaking directly to me. Between April and October my life circumstances change a little bit each time and it seems that those who speak know that because they are speaking on topics and direction that I need. Between the conferences’s this year, I was set apart as a Young Women’s President. It is amazing how much I picked up on when talks were directed or concerned the youth. I needed to be guided regarding the youth and I was. I also need more direction in being a better mother and wife. I got AMAZING direction. I needed help with some personal things too and I truly felt inspired, motivated and rejuvenated regarding those things. It is miraculous how much our Heavenly Father knows each of us and inspires his Prophets on what we need to hear. I know without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God and I believe Thomas S. Monson is a true and living prophet. How blessed am I to have that testimony.

How do you not use a mixer in 2 years? Don't you even make pizza dough? You are crazy, I use my bosche every week! The Rolls look amazing... (and this is comming from the woman who only likes CINNABON, so that means a LOT). And Cinnamon rolls are typically a lot more work than anything else, so give yourself a pat on the back.
