Easter 2012

Easter was so wonderful for us this year. I love Easter time. I decorated our house all cute and we did a few cute eastery activities. Plus this year Brooklyn's bday and Easter were two days apart so that was kind of fun (and expensive).

Our ward had an awesome Easter party and egg hunt. Kids had a blast and the food was delish. I don't know if I have ever mentioned it before, but my ward is amazing. I highly doubt I will ever be in a ward like this again. The thought of not being a part of this ward here in a few months, just about breaks my heart. We have been so blessed here.

Look how cute this girl is. She looks all excited and happy but it didn't last long. She only got 2 eggs. I tell ya, she is just so non-competitive with these kinds of things. She was a little disappointed. Sweet girl.Buddy Ben. These two are such gooooood friends.
Easter morning was a little hectic because we have church at 830 and we all needed showers. Yeah, didn't plan ahead at all! Anyway, I knew the kids wouldn't be able to hold out for after church, so we went ahead and did every thing before church. Easter bunny left clues around the house that lead to the basket. Kids totally loved it!
We didn't make it to church on time which really bugs me, but we got there in enough time to partake of the Sacrament-which is the most important part anyway.
Easter bunny goes over board every year on baskets. Some one has too much fun with this kind of thing :)
Here are our Easter outfits for the 3rd year in a row! Now it's time to retire them and get a new theme. Maybe yellow next year. I love yellow in the spring! Oh and Weston right now doesn't have a white church shirt so we had to go with blue. Would have looked better with a white shirt, oh well.My kids are serious BUTTS about doing pictures after church. They are usually great about little photo shoots any other time. But after church...they are horrible and we have to bribe or threaten them to cooperate. So this was the best I got.
For dinner we had just a few friends over for dinner that didn't have family around either. It was seriously one of the best Easter's. Also, My yw presidency combined our efforts and taught the lesson together. It was such a great lesson. My part was to teach about using the atonement and laying down our burdens at the Lord's feet; for Him to carry our burden and lighten our load. Anyway, it was a really spiritual lesson and I am so thankful or Easter, for My Savior and for the Atonement and Resurrection.
