We woke up early Tuesday morning and headed for California Adventure. It was so blazing hot. Way hotter then the previous day. And....CA was was busier then Dland was. The new Cars Land made that park a zoo. We were hoping to hit up the famous cars ride but got there 30 minutes after the park opened and the ride was 105 minute wait and the Fast passes had run out for the entire day. Holy cow! We were disappointed. But it was still a super fun day.
Soarin over California was definitely the best ride in my opinion. It's so cool! Wade thought the whole inside was awesome because the whole theme is planes and jets. Very fitting for his new career.
Littler Mermaid was also a fantastic ride. One of Brooklyn and I's favorites. We tried hitting up this ride the last day there but it was broken. Sad because it is was so cool!
I can't explain how fun it was to be on a SUPER fun vacation centered around my kids. It was some of the best times we have ever had.
I think the three adults whined more then the kids did. They were so great and happy pretty much the whole time. Us on the other hand got gripey, hot and tired and few times :)
Seriously, this Farris wheel was insane. Not only was it super high but it swung really fast up and down on a track. It definitely took your breath away. Kids loved it. Macy didn't :)
I might have mentioned it in the day one post, but Brooklyn was seriously a cool, fun girl. She loved anything fast, high, anything with a big drop, and anything and all roller coasters. I love that about her!
Most of the bigger-ish rides required 40 inches. I found this out while researching tips prior to the trip and glad I did. I purposely bought Weston think soled shoes for this trip. He is about 38-39 inches and those shoes gave him the extra height he needed. He was measured quite a bit and passed every time by standing really tall. And...he fluffed up all that hair to give him an extra boast. Had he not been 40 inches....it would have made both parks challenging.
The Toy Story ride at this park was by far the stupidest we went on. I think it was our longest line too. 35 minutes. So lame!
We caught Woody and Jessie in the nick of time and I am so glad we did since Weston had been dying to see Woody. We saw Buzz walking around but couldn't get a pic with him.
We actually ate lunch in line waiting to see Jessie and then headed back to the hotel for a much needed nap. It was just wayyyyy tooo hot to keep plugging along and we were all in need of a nap. So we napped for a few hours. It was awesome. Then we woke up and walked to The Cheesecake Factory for some dinner. I love that Disney has so many great restaurants within walking distance. We had the most amazing meal. Macy and I each ordered but shared. Chinese Chicken salad and orange chicken. I am salivating as I type this.
Once we got back to the park after dinner we hit up all the stuff we didn't do earlier in the day. Bugs Life Land was so awesome and detailed and darling.
Cars Land was way less busier then during the day so we walked through it. Boy oh boy was it awesome. It looks identical to Radiator Springs from the movie. They got it perfect.
Radiator Springs in the back ground.
This was a real life McQueen. It even drove up and parked. HAD to get a picture.
Right as we got there Mater was driving away as McQueen was pulling up so the kids got to see both cars.
Mater ride.
After Cars Land Brooklyn and Macy went and rode a roller coaster, Wade went and got some churros and Weston and I got a spot for the World of Color show. That show was UNREAL! Definitely a must see at California Adventure. They do this whole show on the water. Definitely a favorite.
Since we had had late naps we headed back over to Disneyland. I love love love Disneyland at night. The castle is gorgeous and the park is so much less busy. We went on a bunch of fun rides even....
SPLASH MOUNTAIN!!!!! Yes, Weston went on the huge ride too. Check out this picture. Brooklyn looks like she is having the time of her life, Weston looks scared to death, Wade purposely posed dorky, and Mace and I are enjoying every minute. This picture is very accurate. Brooklyn LOVED it and went several more times and Weston did it but it did scare him a little bit. I actually think he hated getting wet the worst.
We even made it in time for the Fire works show.
So we really loved California Adventure but it definitely doesn't have all the magic that Disneyland does. It just feels like a normal, really cool amusement park. There is just something special about Disneyland. But we loved it all!
Next up...
Day 3- back at Disneyland
Brooklyn is "in love" with a boy
Wade leaving us for 3.5 months-I might die and he hasn't even left yet(he leave Sunday)
And a special little post, but you will have to wait and see to find out what it is :)
