Lots of dates

This week was a good one in terms of me really enjoying my kids and really soaking up the one on one time with them.  I think I am starting to realize that my days with just having me and my Buddie all day long are coming to a close. I love my days with Weston. He is so well behaved and fun and goes along with anything. Sometimes we have chores all day and he just is right by my side helping me. Sometimes we run errands and he just happily goes along. And sometimes I plan fun things for us to enjoy. This week I tried to plan lots of fun things.

I had the idea of packing a lunch and taking it to the flight line and watch the F-16's take off and land. Weston had been looking forward to it and watching the jets "blast off". Wade was able to sneak away for an hour that day and we picked him up on the way. Weston was not excited about that. He told me that he wanted to take me on a "play date" all by himself without dad. Ha. That kid. But he was eventually happy when Wade got in the car. He just had it in his head that it was gunna be a date with just me and him :)
There is just something so so cool about fighter jets. We probably see/hear over 50 every day. It never gets old. I love living at a training base for fighter jets. Totally fascinating.
Last night Weston and I went out on another "play date" as he calls our dates. I told him to plan it all. He planned a great date and we had a blast. He wanted to take me to Chili's and then to get donuts. So we headed to Chili's. He was so fun and animated and tender and made me laugh. The whole time while we ate we asked each other our favorites. I found out (well I already knew really) his favorite animal is a dinosaur, favorite food is broccoli, favorite sports are Giants and Texas Tech (guess he didn't understand the question :) favorite restaurant is Chili's and McDonalds, favorite color is orange. He gave me clues to guess his answers and his clues made me laugh :) He also held the door open for me every time, but he always always makes sure to do that for me and Brooklyn. Weston...my little man, you are the cutest and best little boy ever. I loved our date last night.
We ended the night having zero luck finding anywhere open with donuts but we made due with some yummy donut holes from the store.
Last night was Brooklyn's school's daddy/daughter dance. It was something she was so excited about it was so fun to see. Wade bought her a special dress just for the dance. She picked this one out because she could spin really good in it. Wade said she spun all night.
Brooklyn had this hair do in mind. She has good taste and it looked darling on her.
They went to Taco Bell before the dance. Brooklyn's request. She wanted a double decker.
When she called me on the way home from the dance I could hear all the excitement and joy in her voice. She said she danced all night long with her dad and her two best friends from class. Gangham Style and Call Me Maybe were her two favorite dance songs. Wade said watching her dance with her friends was about the cutest thing he has ever seen. At one point her and her two friends made a train and went around the dance floor. How is she old enough for this???
Wade took a bunch of pics on his phone and it looked like Brooklyn was on cloud nine. She told me it was the best night of her life.
Life with these two kids is so much fun. These are perfect ages. I wish time would slow down so I could enjoy this time for longer :)

Oh and after the dance we had to meet at the Urgent Care. Two days prior Brooklyn fractured her elbow...more on that whole mess next post. But yes, she went the whole day at school and the whole dance with a fractured elbow. But she didn't want to miss the dance so the Dr. said we could come after the dance to get a cast :)
