Ryan G. Iverson was born February 27, 2013 at 3:59pm.
Here through TONS of pictures, is his story!
I went in to be induced at 6 am. We got pitocin (sp?) started at 10 am, epidural in at 11 am, water broke around noon, and I started pushing at 3:55 pm. I went in dilated at a 3 and at 230 pm I was only a 4.5. My labor was not progressing at all. I thought I might be there all day waiting! It was so weird because with my other labors I progressed so much faster. I hated hated hated this epidural. It didn't feel great at all going in and I was so uncomfortable when it was in. I obviously felt zero pain but I was so tingly and numb that I could barely deal with it and asked them to turn it way down. As soon as that happened I went from a 4.5 to a 10 in like minutes. My mom and sister had my kids out running errands, but lucky got to the hospital in enough time for me to push. I really wanted my mom and sister in the room but didn't think that was going to happen. All the sudden they walk in and within minutes I was pushing. There was zero time to figure out who was going out with my kids so we pushed a chair up by my head and then I started pushing. In two contractions Ryan was here! It was so amazing and wonderful and great and easy! With Brooklyn and Weston I pushed for over an hour.
Here is the rest of the story through pictures.
I didn't expect that my two kids would watch me in labor but honestly, it was so amazing! They couldn't see anything and since I had an epidural there wasn't any craziness. They are definitely old enough to not be scared and they both said they thought it was really neat. Weston was a little confused and overwhelmed but they did great. Definitely an experience they won't forget. And if I could do it over again, I would totally have them there. It was very cool!
Ryan came out pretty clean and perfect so they just laid him on me and cleaned him up. I almost cried. I felt an overwhelming love for him and all the anxiety and worry and "not wanting to baby again" quickly was replaced with an immediate love and happiness.
Within seconds of looking at him, it was like deja vu. This little boy was Weston all over. I couldn't believe how much resemblance was there. The whole family said the same thing.
I love this picture. He was so adorable and perfect and loved right away.
Look at that thumb nail. Holy smokes.
So the labor was so smooth and there were no complications. Such a huge blessing.
The third thing I thought/noticed was HIS HAIR! We have balder then bald babies. Who was this kid with a full head of dark hair??? So in love!
He weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and 21 1/4 inches long. Holy skinny long baby! And his head was little...so rare in this family!
This picture is so darling. I love frog legs and hands up by their face. These pictures are already making me sad because now he his a week old.
Both kids holding their new little brother's hands. So precious.
Wade came down with a bad cold the day before Ryan was born so he had to wear a mask. :(
I think the best feelings, best memories, and best ever life experiences happen right after your child is born. It is so incredible that it's hard to put into words. This picture says it all for me. Wade and I fell in love with this little boy instantly and couldn't believe we had lived without him.
Ryan spent the next hour or two just starring at all of us. He was soooo alert and awake and happy.
The whole experience was so wonderful. My Dr was amazing, nurses, hospital, amazing food, huge huge rooms, ect. It was all perfect.
Since my kids were already in the room they got to experience it all right there with me and Wade. It seriously was so cool. This hospital does everything with the baby all in the room. In Reno, they would take my babies for a few hours and bath, monitor, shots, ect. But here it was all done in my huge room. So the kids watched everything. When it was their time to hold Ryan they were so happy. Both kids have been EXCELLENT with him!
SheShe now has five grand kids. I am so thankful she was here and took great care of Brooklyn and Weston while we were in the hospital for 3 days. More on all that later too!
Weston was definitely the most involved with Ryan the first few days. Brooklyn has a tendency to get really distracted and overwhelmed and even though she held him a lot and gave him lots of love, she had tons of toys, food and my mom and sister that kept her distracted. But Weston was very attentive to Ryan. Look how cute Weston is. He looks like a really proud big bro!
Don't get me wrong, Brooklyn is just as in love with Ryan, but those first few days she was just a little occupied! Now that we have been home and our family has all left, she is amazing with him and wants him all the time!
These pictures got out of order, but here they are watching the nurses to their thing with Ryan.
HAHA! This was Weston not wanting to look at Ryan's private parts! If you knew Weston you would think this were hilarious!
Wade blows me away every single time with how tender, sweet, involved, in love he is with our babies. He is definitely a huge fan of the new born stage like I am. Watching Wade is heaven for me!
Even through the mask I can see his expression of love :)
Wade and I make really cute babies I think!
So life has been great. I have a ton more pictures to post but this will do for now. Every thing on February 27th went so perfectly. I can't believe it's already been over a week. My three kids are perfect and happy and we are all doing great!!!
