Last night was our Young Women's in Excellence program. Our youth work all year long on personal progress goals. This is a night to recognize their achievements.
Myself and the other YW leaders , probably put in over 30 hours making this night come together. I thought is was breath taking, special, and unforgettable. So for my own records I wanted to blog about it.
We ran with the wedding theme since our main goal as young women is to get prepared to enter and marry in the temple. We made them these awesome book marks for them to take home.
Entry table.
The lighting was so beautiful in there, but it made for blurry pictures. I am sad the camera couldn't possibly capture all the detail and ambiance. I heard a few, "Oh my gosh, it's gorgeous in here" from people walking in. I am so glad it did because there were 5 of us preparing all day!
These were the center pieces which I thought were adorable. Each was different. We let each girl take one home too.
The music was beautiful. One thing I still have to post is the video that Rachel made. It was so phenomenal. I will post it once she sends it to me. We made each girl a copy too. They went home full of gifts :)
Some of the decor.
Awhile ago we met at the Temple and had a photographer take the girls photo with the temple in back ground. They turned out so fabulous. They were such a great display and we have kind of made it a yearly tradition to take their picture and display it. Then they kept it after.
I wanted all the leaders to display a wedding picture, so this was the table with all our pictures. Every one's pictures were beautiful and made for awesome decorations.
This is the table where the girls displayed their projects. Some girls cross stitched, had an intense running regimen, re-purposed a chair, ect.
Our girls, their parents, some stake leaders and our bishopric.
We borrowed wedding dresses and had them model them. It was so fun but also symbolized their eternal goal of marrying in the Temple. I thought it was so powerful, beautiful and really special. Here they are getting ready to model and me ( in the pink) telling them what to do one more time. :)
This is my cute little beehive that I adore. She texted me when she got home... "Hey, Sister Iverson. I wanted to thank you for making this night so special. I will never forget this night." That text made me sooooo happy. We put so much love, time, talent, effort, hard work, and TONS of hours into this. So I am happy it made for good, unforgettable memories.
All of our girls as I interviewed them about their thoughts and feelings about the temple, how YW's is preparing them for the Temple and we even through in a few questions about what temple they wanted to marry in, how old, where they want to honeymoon, how many kids. It was awesome. They then, described their project. After they all sang, "I love to see the Temple." I felt the spirit so strong the entire night which was such a blessing.
