Halloween this year has been so different. I should say that the fall time this year has been different. My favorite time of year is fall and usually I have all my fall/Halloween/thanksgiving decor out in my house. I have a beautiful fall wreath hanging from my door and my house smells like pumpkin spice. In Lubbock we had a million and one Halloween festivities and fun parties. This year has been quite different. My stuff is all sitting in a storage unit in Lubbock and we haven't been to many Halloweenish type things. We are missing Texas right now! But we still have tried to do a couple of fun things!
OH! And...for the last 3 Halloween's I have dressed the kids in a fun theme. This year we were all going to be pirates. I ordered the kids costumes on Sept. 10th. On Oct. 15th I get an email informing me that they are out of stock on our costumes. Yes 1.5 months later and I have zero costumes. So last Saturday we went to at least 7 stores in hopes of finding pirate costumes. NO luck anywhere. Actually every where we went (except Walmart, but I am not paying 25 bucks each for a crappy one from there) was sold out of EVERYTHING! So we came home with the only costumes that were left in their size. They are random, don't have a theme and something I would never probably buy. But they LOVE them and they are cute in them :)
Here is a cute Minnie Mouse! This was the picture we sent dad when we got home!
And here is our Knight and Shining Armor. I actually think this one will be useful since they always play princess and prince.
We made some Halloween cookies. Usually we get together with friends and decorate some and then go booing. Next year!
Wade was included in this activity. Skype is such a wonderful thing and a huge blessing to us right now!
Last Friday I saw a girl post of FB that a gym here was putting on a party. I called up Jentry and invited her and we went and had a blast T-or-Treating around the gym, playing on the bounce house and holding a bird.
Then we stood in line for pony rides. These were good sized ponies and the kids loved them!
After the gym party we hit up Port of Subs. Yum! I wonder if they have them in AZ???
Scary kids!
This was before my parent's ward's Trunk or Treat. Cute kids huh?
My mom had a cute outfit. Her shirt said, This is my Grandma Costume. She looked darling. I put on a witch hat and called it good.
The Trunk or treat was fun. I really wish I had friends though. Life is sooo much better when you have friends to have fun with.
My sister and her family are coming tomorrow for a week and I am excited! Then after that we pack up and move to AZ!
